Sam's Trucking Estevan Ltd. has put safety at the front of the line in importance. The oil industry demands that safety is a priority and Sam's believes this also. The company has gone through the process of a COR(Certificate of Recognition) audit and received a passing score. This achievement is a major stepping stone on the road to zero incidents. We use a hazard identification program to process any daily occurrences that arise and by utilizing the id program we can prevent accidents or injuries from occurring. Monthly safety meetings are held as well as prejob (tailgate) meetings.

The company has a strong OH&S committee and encourages any new employees to bring up ideas that could be used to improve the level of safety. All employees are trained according to provincial and federal regulations at the very least. Training and orientation is the first requirement of any employee before he or she is sent out on a job. Safety certificates are kept up to date through a monitoring system in the office. All Sam's drivers are required to submit a driver's abstract for review before they are hired, by using a detailed checklist that must be met, Sam's hires top quality personnel. This provides the best service possible to our customers.

Good safety performance is rewarded through award programs and monthly safety bonuses. Promoting safety is a company wide attitude that all employees are encouraged to project.
