Overview:
The oil drilling industry requires "off-highway"
equipment. To provide this type of operation the requirement of heavy
duty trucks and trailers is necessary. Sam's Trucking's equipment is
manufactured to operate in this extreme environment. Our fleet is equipped
to handle rough, back road travelling as well as being able to navigate
in adverse weather conditions. We as a company provide all that is necessary
to move all types and sizes of drilling rigs. Sam's operates year round
as the "patch" dictates. The down time at road ban is used
to upgrade and do any major repairs to all trucks and trailers. Sam's
Trucking strives to perform a top quality service for our customers
by providing employees that are trained to work in a safe and time productive
manner.
History:
The current company, Sam's Trucking Estevan Ltd., was established on
November 15 2004. Before that, the company ran under the name Sam's
General Trucking Ltd. Sam's has been a progressive trucking company
since 1952 when Bill Barclay started the company, with the corporate
office in Coleville Sask. The Estevan branch was started in August of
1981. At that time Bob Lawrence who had been driving for Sam's with
his own truck, became the manager. Rose Lawrence took on the job of
office manager. Land was purchased at the current address and a shop
was built. The Estevan "office was originally in Bob & Rose's
house until an office could be built. Sam's has always been a family
orientated business. With Bob & Rose's 3 children working at Sam's
from the time they were old enough to drive. Several employees have
been employed with Sam's for over 20 years.
At the time of the buyout by Fast Trucking Service, many employees stayed
on, including the management. As we enter into our 56th year of being
a major trucking company in Saskatchewan, Sam's looks forward to expansion
and growth.
